Intro

You can use this Cult of Cupid oversight list to look up any number in your numerology chart and get a sense of all the different associations of each number. The characteristics/associations of each number always remain the same; only the strength and interpretation differs in each case.

The texts here are a summary of all historic books on numerology, with an ever increasing amount of updates/improvements based on my own observations. Numerology is a field that should still be very much in development. If you have any suggestions for additions or points of criticism, let me know. Feedback is always welcome.

Main characteristics and life lesson(s

You are here in this life to learn to become independent in thought and work, even if this means going against the grain. Allow yourself to become an eccentric, a rebel, a pioneer, an innovator, and a leader. Show the courage to make this happen.

The main characteristics and life lessons are preceded or accompanied by less crucial issues involving the 3 and the 7 (with the 7 being the more dominant):

It also makes the 1 more emotional. Then again, the 7 is the polar opposite of the 3, so that makes for an interesting dynamic in the character.

  • 7: The 7 is very serious-minded and far less happy-go-lucky. The 7 is dealing with trust and openness issues related to him- or herself and others. You need to trust your own opinions, feelings, intellect, creativity, and conclusions. At the same time, learn to trust others and make sure to open up to those who love and care about you.

Keep in mind, overall about 80 percent of 2s are 11s (only the 20/2 isn't), and 100 percent of the persons born in the 1982-1999 period were.

  • 2/11: Often have spiritual interests.
  • 2: It can take a long time for them to open their hearts again after they have been betrayed or hurt.

  • Double 1: If not hampered by confidence or self-criticism issues (often earlier in life), more outgoing and fiercer than the ordinary 2.
  • 11: Tend to have a relatively large energy field flowing around them, which often gives them a certain unusual presence. This energy can either draw people in or repel them just as quickly. It all depends on the "vibe" send out.

  • 11: Tends to continually switch between the discordant energies of the double 1 and the 2. Sometimes this is an asset; sometimes a burden. In any case it makes them very prone to nervous energy.

  • 2: Aspire to be extremely dependable, honest and just.
  • 2: Great parents and tend to be friends with their children.
  • 2: Tend to have very soft and kind eyes that easily give them away as being a 2.
  • Double 1: A very independent, rebellious and pioneering thinker. In the 38/11/2 this creative energy tends to be supplemented with a more emotional component.
  • Double 1: A huge drive once a goal is set. In the 38/11/2 this energy tends to be even greater.
  • 11 and 3: Usually a good sense of humor.
  • 11: Aspire to a very high level of morality and ethics.
  • 11: Usually the most spiritually aware person in the room (consciously or unconsciously).
  • 11: Seen as the most intuitive of all the numbers. Ideas, thoughts, understanding, and insight can come to them without having to go through a rational thought process. Because of this the 11 is often seen to be on the brink of greatness and self-destruction.

General

  • 2: Music has a very soothing effect on them.
  • 2/11: Often have spiritual, philosophical and/or existential interests.
  • 2: It can take a long time for them to open their hearts again after they have been betrayed or hurt.
  • Double 1: More competitive, rebellious, and independent-thinking than the ordinary 2. In the long run, it's much harder for them to work under someone else's guidance.
  • 8: Adds very down-to-earth and practical qualities and a need to be comfortable in life: to do the things one enjoys without having to worry too much about money.

What to keep in mind

  • 2: Need to be careful not to take on the problems of the people they love or to accept too much from others. This is their nature, but it can quickly drain them. It can also leave them feeling angry and resentful.
  • 2: Normally very easygoing, but when they get upset, it can be like a volcano erupting. Tend to feel drained after the conflict, however, because anger is very toxic to them.
  • 2: Emotionally very sensitive. Often way too easily bruised by the words of others. They also tend to worry too much what others think of them.
  • 2: Cannot stand to be pushed or rushed.
  • 11: When their inferiority complex plays up, 11s can have the tendency to become very competitive, dominant, highly opinionated, and can come across as having to prove something. At this point they begin alternating between bouts of fitful energy and periods of collapse.
  • 38/11/2s: The most prone to dominating their surroundings also prone to suffering the most intense bouts of insecurity and self-doubt.
  • Double 1: Often too harsh on themselves. Have fate in yourself and allow yourself to make mistakes once in a while.
  • 11: Tends to continually switch between the discordant energies of the double 1 and the 2. Sometimes this is an asset; sometimes a burden. In any case it makes them very prone to nervous energy.
  • 11: Their extremely lively imagination, due to their creativity, can make them very impractical at times (but just as often it is precisely the other way around).
  • 11: Often experience feelings of confusion, a lack of direction, conspicuousness, alienation and of being out-of-place. They relatively have a lot of issues to overcome a lot to accomplish in life.
  • 11: Sensitive areas tend to be the lower back and lower abdomen.

Work advice

  • Good counselors, social workers, physical therapists, acupuncturists, doctors, scientists, writers, artists, diplomats, or activists for that matter. Tend to avoid the life of hard business, although the 38/11/2 is naturally a little better resistant to this than most other 2s. Regularly drawn to spiritual endeavors.

47/11/2

Main characteristics and life lessons

The 2 excels at aiding and helping out others. Use your gifts of intuition, tact, diplomacy, empathy, and patience to resolve conflict and help people reach their highest potential. This can be in all kinds of different domains the 2 might be interested in.

Learn, however, that you are not responsible for everyone around you. Establish healthy boundaries. The 2s innate desire to help and please others can easily lead to great frustration and resentment when someone is resisting. Allow others to make mistakes. And step up when feeling mistreated or taken advantage of; you are worth just as much as everyone else. Find balance between helping yourself and others; don't withdraw within.

The double 1: The extra 1 amplifies all aspects of the single 1. Independence of thought and work is of the utmost importance for the double 1, even if this means going against the grain - which is often quite challenging to do. Learn to develop your creative energies and use them to become a pioneer and innovator.

Master Number 11: The double 1 is generally seen as the Master Number 11. The 11/2 is thought to be here to help the world in a higher way. Reaching the 11s full potential is challenging, but at the same time very rewarding. Because of the steep learning curve and confidence issues to overcome, a lot of 11s develop relatively slow, with many never reaching their full potential.

All this having been said, the very gentle and often spiritual 2 energy combined with the down-to-earth, competitive and pioneering 1 quality really is enough to explain the "sage"-like characteristics attached to the number 11. Keep in mind, overall about 80 percent of 2s are 11s (only the 20/2 isn't), and 100 percent of the persons born in the 1982-1999 period were.

The main characteristics and life lessons are preceded or accompanied by less crucial issues involving the 4 and the 7:

  • 4: You are here in this life to learn to build a stable foundation for yourself and to create a harmonious and secure relationship. You are to steadily work on your dreams and eventually to teach others what you have learned. You are also here to take care of and protect your loved ones. Learn to have patience and show perseverance when building this foundation. Often there are considerable obstacles on the road.

  • 7: You are here in this life to deal with trust and openness issues related to yourself and others. Learn to trust your own opinions, feelings, intellect, creativity, and conclusions - you have much to share. At the same time, learn to trust others and make sure to open up to those who love and care about you.

The 11/2 characteristics (of which the 2 is dominant):

  • 7: Additional need for alone-time.
  • 7: Harsh opinions when upset.

Work advice

  • Good counselors, social workers, physical therapists, acupuncturists, doctors, scientists, writers, artists, diplomats, or activists for that matter. 12/3

Main characteristics and life lessons

You are here in this life to learn to creatively express yourself in the fullest sense of the word. Reach out to others as much as possible. You are blessed with an outgoing, playful nature and are an especially powerful speaker and artist. Do try to keep your heavy emotions under control.

The main characteristics and life lessons are preceded or accompanied by less crucial issues involving the 1 and 2 (with the 2 being the more dominant):

  • 1: Become independent in thought and work, even if this means going against the grain. Allow yourself to become an eccentric, a rebel, a pioneer, an innovator, and a leader. The 1 makes the 3 a bit more independent thinking and competitive.

  • 2: 2s excel at aiding and helping out others. The 2 and the 3 are a pretty good combination all by itself. The 2 makes the 3 a little bit more caring, diplomatic and tactful, but overall, provided that the confidence is there, hardly affects spontaneity, playfulness and humor. The main issue here is that the 2 makes the emotional 3 extra sensitive and maybe even shy. 2s also always need to set clear boundaries to guard against being taken advantage of. To an extent this now also goes for the 12/3.

  • 12: The 1 and 2 can together be seen as the number 12, which stands for "creative cooperation". 1s often express their creativity by thinking and working by themselves, but the 12/3 generally reaches his or her peak by working with others - because of the 2 element.

Positive

  • The most playful of all numbers.
  • Very creative, communicative, inspirational and has a good imagination.
  • Great humor and often natural entertainers. They love being listened to.
  • Great public speakers (even though they may start out the most nervous).
  • Known for their smile, bright eyes, sharp wit, and pleasant-sounding voice. Great company when living on the positive side of their vibration.
  • Very quick thinkers.
  • Very loyal and romantic. Relationships never truly end, even after they are over.
  • Usually like to write and read.
  • The 2 energy makes the 12/3 more intuitive, supportive and diplomatic.

General

  • Spontaneous and likes to take chances.
  • Very emotional, although they often keep this under the surface.
  • Always have an opinion.
  • Natural tendency to embellish every story they tell.
  • 12/3 and 21/3: Tendency to intellectualize their emotions more than other 3s.

What to keep in mind

  • Try to keep the emotions in check, especially when you open your mouth. Because you're such a powerful communicator and so emotional, you can easily become overly sarcastic or vicious, spill secrets, or just talk too much. It's very easy to hurt yourself and others this way.
  • Emotional or creative expression through words can be hard in the beginning, but after a short while the words start flowing.
  • If they can't express themselves creatively, 3s can easily become manically-depressed and experience great mood swings.
  • They can easily become too giving with people or partners who aren't giving anything back. Often pick partners who are "patients" with the idea they can save that person. When this fails it can quickly make them bitter, depressed and moody.
  • Their quick minds can easily give them a sense of superiority or make them impatient with others, both of which is very unpleasant for the people around them. When in charge at work, they need to watch for not becoming too domineering. In relationships they need to watch not to become constantly-critical or snappy with their partner.
  • The 3s creative skills need to be developed though discipline and focus. As you have a tendency to be the life of the party, watch out not to become too distracted.
  • Apparently, 3s who don't feel like expressing themselves creatively, tend to have scars from the past.
  • Can feel easily rejected when not given enough attention.
  • Tendency to withdraw in silence when hurt, later on covering up the true feelings with jokes.
  • Can have difficulty handling money. Often too generous, disorganized and happy-go-lucky in this regard.

Work advice

  • Anything that gets their feelings, emotions and creativity going is really good for a 3. Great entertainers, models, actors, writers, poets, musicians, singers, comedians, cosmetologists, hairdressers, or anything that has to do with designing. Very good salespeople. Other 3s might enjoy vocations that ask for a lot of mental activity, like the academic field, science, research, computer programming, etc. - but it has to involve their own creativity.

22/4

Main characteristics and life lessons

The 4: You are here in this life to learn to build a stable foundation for yourself and to create a harmonious and secure relationship. You are to steadily work on your dreams and eventually to teach others what you have learned. Learn to have patience and show perseverance when building this foundation. Often there are considerable obstacles on the road. You are also here to take care of and protect your loved ones.

The double 2: The extra 2 amplifies the aspects of the single 2. And The 2 excels at aiding and helping out others. The 2s of the 22/4, however, tend to deal first with "inner cooperation" (respecting your own needs and boundaries), followed by "outer cooperation" (respecting other people's needs and boundaries). Since the 4s characteristics dominate those of the 2, when it comes to helping others, 22/4s tend to favor being direct over diplomacy.

Master Number 22: The double 2 can also be seen as the Master Number 22. The 22 is seen as one of the most powerful numbers. In short, do something with all that intuition, inspiration, idealism, great plans, big ideas, and leadership qualities.

The 22/4 characteristics (of which the 4 tends to be dominant):

  • Very grounded. With practical things they can manifest extraordinary patience. Usually considerably less with spiritual or purely intellectual matters.

  • 22/4: The double 2 tends to make the 4 a little more flexible, sensitive and tactful than other 4s.

33/6

Main characteristics and life lessons

The 6: You are here in this life to take care of the people in your life: family, friends, and maybe even strangers if your profession requires it. It might also be wise to find ways to express your large amount of creative energy.

The double 3: The extra 3 amplifies all aspects of a single 3. The characteristics/life lessons of the 3: Learn to creatively express yourself in the fullest sense of the word. 7/7

Main characteristics and life lessons

You are here in this life to learn to trust your own opinions, feelings, intellect, creativity, and conclusions. At the same time, learn to trust others and make sure to open up to those who love and care about you. Trust, or the lack thereof, is a major issue in the lives of a 7. Watch out for becoming overly controlling, suspicious, or blunt without good reason.

Apart from being very headstrong, 7s are very much into aesthetics. They like to make things as beautiful as possible and enjoy the beauty in art, well-prepared food, gifts, music, books, architecture, nature, and many other things.

Positive

  • Generally a sharp mind that is great for concentrating, analyzing and theoretical insight.
  • A very good observer. Sees every detail when walking into a room.
  • Seeker of truth and faith, whatever that may specifically mean to that person. For some it's hard-nosed science; for others it is more of a spiritual nature.
  • Strong intuition and often see things others do not.
  • Tend to be completely loyal, honest, and direct in (love) relationships.
  • Good public speakers and can be very social at parties, but this is balanced by an equal need for alone time.
  • Very aesthetic: loves the beauty in art, gifts, well-prepared food, music, books, nature, etc.
  • Very much drawn to nature: mountains, water, snow, flowers, plants, and green grass all help to quiet the overactive mind of the 7.

General

  • Work is their passion.
  • Relatively slow learners, because they need to experience everything themselves.
  • Tend to trust the rational thought process of their minds more than their feelings.
  • Regularly needs to be alone, to get close to nature, to think and read, and discover their true self.
  • Very much need their own space. More often than other numbers, the 7 will even sleep in a separate bed.
  • A bit reserved around new people until they feel they can really trust them.
  • Like the 4 life path, the 7 has a tendency to (over)analyze every situation. They're not particularly spontaneous.
  • Like to have an air of secrecy. Asking questions will only shut them down.

What to keep in mind

  • Great need to experience everything themselves, so it's regularly best to allow them to make mistakes.
  • Very harsh and straightforward with their opinions when they don't like you or what you did.
  • Watch out for becoming overly controlling or suspicious of others for reasons having to do with trust.
  • Most 7s feel they really need a relationship, but at the same time it can take considerable time before they are able to open up. Until that time, 7s can come across as cold, reserved and non-committal, because consciously or unconsciously they worry about getting hurt.
  • On the other hand, 7s often also start out in relationships totally trusting, almost to a point of naive, blind faith. This can set them up for misunderstandings, some form of abuse, or a broken heart. When this happens the thin outer layer of confidence in the self and others rapidly disappears.
  • Can become quite suspicious, paranoid and vindictive in relationships when for some reason they feel they cannot trust their partner (anymore).
  • Can have trouble praising their partner, often because they're afraid the partner will realize they're too good to be with him or her.
  • When off-track, they'll try to escape in drugs, alcohol, sex, travel or overwork.
  • A negative 7 is one of the most impossible numbers to live with. In a worst case scenario they become very selfish, very negative, verbally abusive, quarrelsome, impatient, lackadaisical, and won't listen to anyone's advice.
  • 7s interested in spiritual issues sometimes get involved in this as a way to escape from the worries of daily life.

Work advice

  • Science, programming, finances, legal practice, psychology, doctors, surgeons, oceanography, astronomy, biology, geology, independent research, religion, or sometimes spiritual endeavors (as 7s often have an interest in this area).

  • Can become very suspicious, paranoid and vindictive in relationships when for some reason they feel they cannot trust their partner (anymore).
  • The 16/7 is one of the less grounded of all numbers.
  • 1 and 6: The tendency of the 1 to get nervous when it needs to express its individuality combined with the general perfectionist 6, is the reason that many 16/7 combinations are very reserved when it comes to expressing their feelings, even for a 7.

Work advice

  • Science, programming, finances, legal practice, psychology, doctors, surgeons, oceanography, astronomy, biology, geology, independent research, religion, or sometimes spiritual endeavors (as 7s often have an interest in this area).

The main characteristics and life lessons are preceded or accompanied by less crucial issues involving the 2 and 5 (with the 5 being the more dominant):

  • 2: The 2 excels at aiding and helping out others. It provides the 7 with a degree of tact, helpfulness, and sensitivity.

  • 5: You are here in this life to experience the full spectrum of freedom, fun, adventure, and diversity that life has to offer. Learn to show some discipline along the road though, otherwise you may not get out of life what you really want or need.

Positive

  • 5: Adds some additional need for fun, adventure and variety to the 7.

8/8

Main characteristics and life lessons

You are here in this life to manifest abundance, which usually requires confidence and steady, hard, or smart work. With "abundance" it is meant that 8s like to be comfortable and have fun. They are usually drawn to the finer things in life: men, women, clothing, sports, food, toys to play with - whatever they happen to be interested in.

It almost goes without saying that the 8 has a very practical and down-to-earth personality which usually is very good with money. Some 8s, however, have such a drive for abundance and/or material possessions that they spend all their money before having earned it. Thus it's not unusual for these persons to lose and regain a fortune in their life, sometimes more than once.

Keep in mind that the 8 is not about becoming wealthy or having tons of stuff they don't need. As already explained, they just want to be comfortable and enjoy their life. It differs per individual how much money they need to maintain their lifestyle and enjoy it with friends. This sharing aspect with friends and family is a very important aspect of the 8's state of abundance.

8s are prone to becoming stubborn, intolerant, overbearing, and impatient. They can be a very blunt with their opinions, with little room for black and gray areas. Learn to express yourself in a balanced way and occasionally accept advice from others. Also try to admit mistakes.

Positive

  • A high energy number. Tend to be good at competition and sports.
  • Practical and result-oriented.
  • Excellent executive ability.
  • Tend to be drawn to the finer things in life: nice house, car, clothing, men, women, toys to play with, etc.
  • Good judge of character.

General

  • Natural born gamblers.
  • A general tendency to be good with finances, although a minority actually have such a hunger for abundance (material possessions, having fun, etc.) before they have the means, that they squander everything. It's also not unusual for 8s to lose and rebuild a fortune in their lifetime - sometimes multiple times.
  • Do not have much tolerance for people who feel sorry for themselves.
  • Tend to face considerable hardships in reaching their goals.
  • In general the one thing an 8 will never get over is a spouse that has had an affair with someone else.

What to keep in mind

  • A very black-and-white vibration with little room for gray areas. Often make very untactful remarks. When reminded how hurtful their remark is, they in turn are stunned: in their minds all they did was tell the truth. In other words, the 8 must learn to be more tactful.
  • Natural workaholics when they have work they love. Often needs to remember that they have a spouse and children that need attention too.
  • Do like it at all when people try to interfere with their plans in any way.
  • Prone to becoming stubborn, intolerant, overbearing, and impatient.
  • Tendency to mask their real feelings. Expressing love and appreciation, just as admitting mistakes and not blame others, is often hard for the 8. Most of the time this becomes easier as they grow older and mature.
  • 8s have a tendency to become passive-aggressives when they don't express their power.

Work advice

  • As a down-to-earth practical number, some of the following occupations come to mind: banker, office manager, engineer, entrepreneur, system administrator, programmer, lawyer, judge, politician, but also athlete, scientist, doctor, surgeon, the entertainment industry, and journalism. Keep in mind, one doesn't have to be an idealist to be a doctor; one just has to be good at his or her job and enjoy doing it a little.

17/8

Main characteristics and life lessons

You are here in this life to manifest abundance, which usually requires confidence and steady, hard, or smart work. With "abundance" it is meant that 8s like to be comfortable and have fun. They are usually drawn to the finer things in life: men, women, clothing, sports, food, toys to play with - whatever they happen to be interested in.

The main characteristics and life lessons are preceded or accompanied by less crucial issues involving the 1 and 7 (with the 7 being the more dominant):

  • 1: Learn to become independent in thought and work, even if this means going against the grain. Allow yourself to become an eccentric, a rebel, a pioneer, an innovator, and a leader. Show the courage to make this happen.

  • 7: You are dealing in life with trust and openness issues related to yourself and others. Learn to trust your own opinions, feelings, intellect, creativity, and conclusions. Then, after you have managed to trust yourself, learn to trust others and make sure to open up to those who love and care about you. Watch out for becoming overly controlling or suspicious - and as a possible result, reactionary - without good reason.

Positive

  • A high energy number. Tend to be good at competition and sports.
  • Practical and result-oriented.
  • Excellent executive ability.
  • Tend to be drawn to the finer things in life: nice house, car, clothing, men, women, toys to play with, etc.
  • Good judge of character.
  • 7: Sharp, intellectual minds.
  • 7: Quite aesthetic: into the beautiful things of life; art, books, nature, etc. Even with sports or well-prepared food, 7s look at the aesthetic aspects.
  • 1: Adds additional creativity, drive, and independent thinking to the 8.

General

  • Natural born gamblers, although with the strong 7 influence this aspect might be lessened quite a bit.
  • 7: Adds trust issues to the 8. When living in the positive the introvert mind-oriented 7 and extrovert physical-oriented 8 can be a powerful combination. But it is also possible that the two come into conflict when, for example, the 7 does not have enough faith in itself or others. At that point it becomes really hard for the 8 to work towards manifesting abundance.

What to keep in mind

  • A very black-and-white vibration with little room for gray areas. Often make very untactful remarks, which is also the strong suit of a 7.
  • 7: Additional need for alone-time.
  • 7: Harsh opinions when upset.

Work advice

  • As a down-to-earth practical number, some of the following occupations come to mind: banker, office manager, engineer, entrepreneur, system administrator, programmer, lawyer, judge, politician, but also athlete, scientist, doctor, surgeon, the entertainment industry, and journalism. • They have a general tendency to be good with finances, although a minority actually have such a hunger for abundance (material possessions, having fun, etc.) before they have the means, that they squander everything.
  • 3: It makes the 8 more emotionally sensitive and possibly adds to self-doubt.

  • 5: Adds discipline issues to the life of the 8. Besides the fact that the 35/8 has more trouble sitting still, he/she can also have problems showing the necessary discipline to reach the abundance the 8 is after.
  • The 35/8 is a powerful combination and has a natural affinity with wealth, power and respect, which in turn can lead them to adopt a rather ruthless attitude.

Work advice

  • As a down-to-earth practical number, some of the following occupations come to mind: banker, office manager, engineer, entrepreneur, system administrator, programmer, lawyer, judge, politician, but also athlete, doctor, surgeon, the entertainment industry, and journalism. Keep in mind, one doesn't have to be an idealist to be a doctor or a doctor to make the world a better place; one just has to be good at his or her job. There's a lot of prestige involved in healthcare, a lot of money, and for most, enough challenge and satisfaction. Fine for an 8, who wants to be comfortable and enjoy his or her life.

44/8

The number 44: The double 4 can also be seen as the Number 44, which some numerologists consider a Master Number along with 11, 22 and sometimes 33. A Master Number or not, there is little doubt that a double 4 combined with an 8 should give exceptional qualities in areas where large projects need to be managed, especially when they involve construction, IT, finance, or something related to that.
